WOODLAND HILLS, CA. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded Northrop Grumman a follow-on contract to demonstrate an open architecture, plug-n-play navigation system for the All Source Positioning and Navigation (ASPN). The 18-month Phase II contract will result in an implementation of the system into Android-based handheld devices to exhibit the system’s scalability.

Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $40.5 million contract by the Department of Defense (DoD) to provide research, enhancement, and deployment for the Secure Access Baseline for the EnterpRise (SABER) Multi-Level Access (MLA) system. SABER is a cross-domain security solution for the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Agency (AFISRA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and other DoD agencies.

Northrop Grumman's AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) system finished two phases of government developmental testing at the U.S. military's Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) and already has moved into the next phase of developmental testing to prepare for the future operational assessment with the U.S. Marine Corps.

SAN DIEGO. Northrop Grumman has been contracted $80 million to enhance the Next Generation Command and Control Processor (NGC2P), a shipboard tactical data link communications processor that provides real-time combat information about friendly and enemy activity. The five-year indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery award was issued January 9th by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), San Diego. The contract also contains a two-year option worth an additional $15 million.

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL. Northrop Grumman Corp. engineers developed the Fourth Generation Tracking Adjunct Sensor (4G TAS), which is the latest upgrade to the company's high-resolution electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors that are used for the Hawk air defense system. The sensors detect and track low, fast targets in day and night conditions and passes them on to the Hawk's fire control radar.
