WASHINGTON. Mission-critical data protection company Star Lab Corp. (a Wind River company) announced that its Kevlar Embedded Security product will now feature data protection capabilities at-rest and runtime for Linux-based embedded systems.

The company says that Kevlar Embedded Security will now protect critical data and applications at rest and at runtime, addressing threats from multiple commonly used attack vectors.

Kevlar Embedded Security leverages containerization isolation to ensure that a protected container cannot be accessed or inspected, thereby ensuring that critical data used by a container also stays protected. The at-rest protection -- which includes full disk encryption and automated key generation and management -- ensures that data cannot be compromised while a device is powered off; moreover, for additional security during boot time decryption, Kevlar Embedded Security now implements thorough integrity verification to ensure that even if data was somehow modified at rest, it will not be used at runtime.
