SEA-AIR-SPACE MARITIME EXPOSITION. BAE Systems accounced that it has developed an advanced version of its Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) guidance kit that it says enables enhanced strike distance and precision strike lethality.

According to BAE Systems officials, the upgraded version improves the effective range of APKWS guided rockets by up to 30%, which enables the warfighter to engage targets from a greater standoff distance with improved survivability.

APKWS is the U.S. government's program of record for guidance of 2.75-inch laser-guided rockets. The company says that initial production of APKWS block upgrade guidance kits will start in Q3 2021, with manufacture occurring at the BAE Systems facility in Hudson, New Hampshire.
