Korean Fighting Falcon aircraft get radar upgrade from Raytheon

EL SEGUNDO, CA. Republic of Korea officials selected the Raytheon Advanced Combat Radar (RACR) has the country's KF-16C/D Block 52 Fighting Falcon fleet upgrade.

Subject to final US government definition, Raytheon officials will deploy 134 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar systems with deliveries expected to start in late 2016. The scope of the contract includes AESA radar development, production of test assets for the system's design and development program, as well as production.

Raytheon's AESA-based radars were also part of retrofits on the F-15C, F-15E, and the F/A-18E/F aircraft.
