GE Intelligent Platforms releases PEX431 multi-fabric switch and carrier card

HUNTSVILLE, AL. GE Intelligent Platforms rleased the PEX431 a multi-fabric switch and PMC/XMC carrier card that enables multiple I/O modules and processors to be configured in a single 3U VPX system. The PEX431 is capable of interconnecting six processors, and provides control and data plane switching on a single board.

The PEX431 supports switching for PCI Express Gen2/3 and up to nine ports (total) of 1000BaseBX and 1000BaseT Gigabit Ethernet, as well as three OpenVPX payload profiles. In addition, support for an XMC card provides the option for extended functionality, or reduce the number of required for a particular system slots. PEX431 also includes VPX PCI Express peer-to-peer connectivity software for enhanced networking functions.
