DARPA's new program aims to turn plants into sensors - News

ARLINGTON, Va. Defense Advance Research Projects Agency (DARPA) officials launched a new program to pursue technologies to engineer robust, plant-based sensors that are self-sustaining in their environment and can be remotely monitored using existing hardware. The program - Advanced Plant Technologies (APT) - aims to utilize simple plants as the next generation of intelligence gatherers.

Self-diagnosing sensors for aircraft applications released by Honeywell - News

FORT MILL, S.C. Officials at Honeywell released a new series of self-diagnosing sensors designed to improve the performance of aircraft systems and reduce maintenance costs associated with false readings. The Integral Health Monitoring (IHM) series proximity sensors can detect when a sensor has been damaged or otherwise impacted.

Metal Shark wins $54 million FMS contract to build coastal patrol vessels - News

JEANERETTE, La. U.S. Navy officials selected Metal Shark to build near Coastal Patrol Vessels (NCPVs) for United States partner nations through the Department of Defense Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The contract is potentially worth an estimated $54 million.
