The Open Group Sensor Open Systems Architecture or SOSA Consortium today announced the release of the Technical Standard for SOSA Reference Architecture, Edition 2.0, Snapshot 3. New features and functionality described in Snapshot 3 are intended for inclusion in Edition 2.0 of the standard when officially released.

Members of the Sensor Open Systems Architecture, or SOSA, Consortium today at the AUSA Annual Meeting in Washington announced that to date, that about $228 million in Army programs of record have specific SOSA requirements. While they say that number is growing, they are seeking more participation and feedback from program managers.

Safety- and mission-critical software testing firm LDRA announced in a statement that it has joined the Sensor Open Systems Architecture, or SOSA, Consortium, The Open Group's vendor- and platform-agnostic forum for industry and government to collaboratively develop open standards and best practices.
