WHITE SALMON, Wash. Sagetech Avionics, an aerospace technology company providing situational awareness solutions for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and Pen Aviation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to integrate Sagetech Avionics' MXS transponders and Detect and Avoid (DAA) systems into the PEN 55V midsize drone and the PEN 1360V heavy cargo drone.
Under this agreement, Sagetech Avionics and Pen Aviation officials claim the companies will work together to certify the PEN UAV series, equipped with Sagetech's technologies, for UAS operation in global airspace.
Sagetech's DAA system is designed to be suitable for use on commercial unmanned aircraft as well as urban air mobility (UAM) platforms. Sagetech's DAA system is ACAS-based, featuring technologies including a transponder, an interrogator, an ACAS-based DAA computer, software package, and other essential components.
Sagetech's next-gen MXS miniature transponder provides Mode S and 1090 MHz ADS-B In/Out for worldwide compliance of unmanned systems, all integrated in a single tiny package. PEN 55V is a fully automated VTOL, rotary tactical drone and PEN 1360V is a fully automated multi-mission VTOL, rotary cargo drone, designed to carry heavy payload over long distances.
