Sensor systems supplier HENSOLDT has welcomed today's decision by the German Bundestag to develop the new Active Electronic Scanning Array (AESA) radar for the entire German Eurofighter fleet as a positive signal for Germany as a technology base and for European cooperation in the defense sector.

RESTON, Va. Anchore, Inc., company specializing in DevSecOps workflow for software containers, announced it has won a $2.25 million AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract. The contract is focused on securing and hardening software containers through automated, policy-based DevSecOps workflows.

HOLMDEL, N.J. AeroDefense, provider of drone detection technology that detects and locates drones and pilots simultaneously, announced plans to develop a rapidly deployable and ruggedized drone detection system with the U.S. Air Force.

MELBOURNE, Fla. L3Harris Technologies announced its new man-portable Iver4 580 unmanned undersea vehicle (UUV). The new Iver4 580 is the second vehicle in the Iver4 family of next-generation UUVs to designed to address a variety of customer missions, including survey; multi-domain intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; anti-submarine warfare; seabed warfare; and mine warfare.

CHICAGO, Ill. Boeing delivered the first two F/A-18 Block III Super Hornets to the U.S. Navy for flight testing. One jet is a single-seat E model and the other is a two-seat F model.

SWEDEN and ESTONIA. Milrem Robotics’, manufacturer of the THeMIS unmanned ground vehicle, is developing a modern robotic fighting vehicle intended to reduce the number of troops on the battlefield. Development is done by Swedish and Estonian engineers.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. Northrop Grumman Corporation has won an order to provide Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure (LAIRCM) systems and support to the U.S. Air Force. The $151.3 million award was received as part of an existing indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.

ARLINGTON, Va. Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S), a Raytheon Technologies business, was awarded a multiple award indefinite delivery/indefinite quanity (IDIQ) to participate in the U.S. Air Force's development of the Advanced Battle Management System, a future command and control network that will connect military platforms across the globe, designed to give military commanders the ability to make decisions faster.

ATLANTA, Ga. Honeywell has launched its smallest, lightest satellite communications system yet, specifically designed for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Weighing one kilogram (2.2 pounds), the new system is 90% lighter than Honeywell's smallest connectivity system and is designed to bring some of the same connectivity capabilities enjoyed by larger aircraft to smaller unmanned vehicles in the air or on land.

TUCSON, Ariz. Raytheon Missiles & Defense, a Raytheon Technologies business, completed the first guided release of a StormBreaker smart weapon from an F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, which will become the second fighter jet to add the weapon when the program reaches initial operational capability later this year.

ANDOVER, Mass. Mercury Systems, Inc., company specializing in secure mission-critical technologies for aerospace and defense, unveiled the new GSC6204 OpenVPX 6U NVIDIA Turing architecture-based graphics processing unit (GPU) co-processing engine, aiming to provide accelerated high-performance computing capabilities to commercial aerospace and defense applications.

GERMANY. HENSOLDT’s newly developed airborne multi-mission surveillance radar PrecISR1000 has completed its maiden flight. In a one-week flight campaign together with H3 Mission Systems GmbH based in Tussenhausen-Mattsies, Germany, the radar proved its value in terms of integration and performance, according to officials.

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. Persistent Systems, LLC, comapny specializing in mobile ad hoc network (MANET) solutions, announced that it has been awarded a $950 million ceiling indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for the maturation, demonstration, and proliferation of capability across platforms and domains, leveraging open systems design, modern software, and algorithm development in order to enable Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2).

MCLEAN, Va. Booz Allen Hamilton announced that the company has won a five-year, $800 million contract by the GSA’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM) and the Department of Defense to provide artificial intelligence (AI) services to support the Joint AI Center (JAIC).

WILSONVILLE, Ore. FLIR Systems, Inc. announced that the United States Army and Navy have ordered in total more than 160 of the company’s Centaur unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), plus related spares and accessories. The two contracts, totaling $23.5 million, are being sourced through the Army’s Man Transportable Robotic System Increment II (MTRS Inc II) program.

STOCKHOLM. GomSpace, manufacturer and supplier of nanosatellites for customers in the academic, government, and commercial markets, signed a contract to develop and deliver a nanosatellite to the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI). The contract is worth $2.06 million (19 MSEK).

CANADA. GeoSpectrum Technologies (GeoSpectrum) announced that it was selected to deliver its Long-Range Acoustic Messaging (LRAM) system to another Western customer. This follows a recent delivery of LRAM equipment to the Canadian Government.
