CHICAGO, Ill. Boeing has announced that the first U.S. portion of the T-7A Red Hawk advanced trainer has entered the Boeing jet’s state-of-the-art production line.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. AeroVironment, Inc., company specializing in unmanned aircraft systems, announced it had completed its acquisition of Arcturus UAV, Inc. a designer and manufacturer of high-performance unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The transaction totaled to be approximately $405 million.

FRANCE. Tawazun and MBDA announced that the companies have signed a head of terms agreement with the intent to cooperate in the field of smart guided weapon systems. The aim is to create a long-term partnership between Tawazun and MBDA, enabling the development of the SmartGlider weapon systems from design to production phase.

UNITED KINGDOM. Following its testing and entry into service with the UK’s Royal Air Force, Leonardo announced that its BriteCloud capability is now being evaluated for use by U.S. Armed Forces.

HERNDON, Va. DTC, a wireless communications company, announced that it has launched a Robust High Power (RH) variant of the NETNode Phase 5 IP Mesh Radio. Phase 5 is the latest generation of DTC's NETNode Mesh family, offering built-in dual HD video encoders and Multi-In Multi-Out (MIMO) capability to deliver high data throughput and power output. According to the company, the NETNode is available in 4W, 10W, and now 30W total power output variants.

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. Research and development firm Advanced Technology International (ATI) and the U.S. Partnership for Assured Electronics (UPSAE) have created what they call the Defense Electronics Consortium (DEC), an alliance between leading industry and academia experts in the U.S. with the mission of helping the government identify challenges, needs, and opportunities in defense electronics. 

FRANCE. Thales has announced that with the launch of full-scale development of France's third generation of nuclear-powered ballistic-missile submarines (SNLE 3G), the company is developing a new sonar suite based on disruptive technologies.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., a National Security Solutions provider, announced that it has recently received an approximate $55 million, Single Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) C5ISR product related contract from a National Security Customer.

SAN MARCOS, Texas. Berry Aviation, Inc., a manned aircraft operator, has announced the opening of a new Autonomous and Unmanned Aviation Division located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The new research facility conducts Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) research supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in the areas of specialized navigation, propulsion, and acoustic improvements.

Green Hills Software announced that its INTEGRITY-178 tuMP real-time operating system (RTOS) will be used in Terma North America's (Arlington, Virginia) next-generation family of electronic warfare (EW)  controllers [the AN/ALQ-213(v5)] as part of Terma's recent $306 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)--Aviation (Warner Robins, Georgia).  

EAST AURORA, N.Y. Astronics Corporation, provider of technologies for global aerospace, defense, and other mission critical industries, has won contracts by Boeing to supply CorePower aircraft power distribution units and custom-engineered exterior lighting for the MQ-25 unmanned aerial refueling program.

CRANE, Ind. The Naval Surface Warfare Center has awarded Collins Aerospace Systems, a unit of Raytheon Technologies (RTX), a seven-year, $64 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide sonar domes for surface combat ships for the U.S Navy and Allied forces.
