Engineers at Macrolink, a BE Aerospace Company, achieved National Security Agency (NSA) embedment approval for the company's Data-At-Rest (DAR) Recorder targeted for unattended operation on unmanned platforms. This is a big win for Macrolink and as far as I know it is the first solution of its kind available to the industry. It also builds on a discussion in our February/March issue of Military Embedded Systems magazine.

Lockheed Martin officials received delivery of the Rockwell Collins ESA Vision Systems, LLC, Gen III Helmet Mounted Display System (HMDS) for software integration into the F-35 Lightning II jet fighter. The helmet will be integrated into Low Rate Initial Production 7 for the F-35 program.

Engineers at International Rectifier announced the release of the M3G120 Series of 40W radiation-hardened (RAD-Hard) 120V input DC-DC converters at the Nuclear Space Radiation Effects Conference (NSREC) in Paris this week. The products will support a variety of digital and analog satellite power systems requiring as long as 15 years or more of mission life such as space stations and NASA’s Orion MPCV (Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle) programs.

Aeroflex Microelectronic Solutions - HiRel engineers expanded their RadHard-by-Design (RHD) Analog Function Series family with four new products -- Quad Op Amps, Quad Comparators, Analog Multiplexers, and A to D/D to A converter. The devices are specifically developed for spacecraft designers involved in work on LEO, MEO, GEO, HEO, or Deep Space missions with specific radiation requirements.
