The National Training and Simulation Association officials announced this week at Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, that they have chosen the F-35 Lightning II Training System for the 2014 Modeling & Simulation Awards. It recognizes the F-35 Joint Program Office, the U.S. Air Force’s 33rd Fighter Wing, the F-35 Joint Program Office, and Lockheed Martin for providing an effective, immersive training experience for F-35 pilots and maintainers.

Lockheed Martin, DoD finalize LRIP-8 contract for F-35s - News

Lockheed Martin and the Department of Defense (DoD) have finalized the eighth F-35 Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP-8) contract. The contract, worth $4.7 billion, called for 43 F-35 Lightning II airframes. The 43 airframes include 29 jets for the U.S. and 14 for five international countries.
