ViaSat garners multiyear contract for terminals used on Apache helicopters - News

CARLSBAD, Calif. Boeing has awarded broadband services and technology company ViaSat a multiyear contract to produce the KOR-24A Link 16 terminal, a two-channel small tactical terminal (STT) used in the U.S. Army's AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter, for U.S. Army and International Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases. The base contract -- which calls for at least 534 terminals to be produced over the next four years -- will eventually contain options.

ViaSat representatives and experts from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) will be demonstrating the product family this week in Austin, Texas at SC15 (Supercomputer Conference).

CARLSBAD, Calif. BAE Systems, UK chose ViaSat Inc., to deliver the Small Tactical Terminal (STT) KOR-24 for installation on the Cobham Falcon 20 to support Link 16 network pre-deployment training. The STT, which was co-developed by ViaSat and Harris Corp., is a certified VHF/UHF and Link 16 two-channel radio that is authorized for transmission in the UK airspace on any platform that has the same clearance approval.
