Viasat Inc., a global communications company, announced it increased production run rates to over 200 Non-Developmental Item (NDI) Link 16 Next-Generation Tactical Data Links radios per month to meet current interest and pending orders from U.S. and international defense customers.

CARLSBAD, Calif. Viasat Inc., communications company, announced it was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, worth a maximum ceiling of $90 million, to provide the U.S. Air Force (USAF) with Viasat's Battlefield Awareness Targeting System — Dismounted (BATS-D) handheld Link 16 radios, also known as the AN/PRC-161 radio. The IDIQ award also covers associated operator training and maintenance.

CARLSBAD, Calif. Viasat Inc. engineers added Concurrent Multiple Reception (CMR) capabilities to the company's Link 16 products. CMR enables a Link 16 radio to receive multiple messages simultaneously versus legacy radios that can only receive one message at a time.
