PHOENIX, Ariz. Honeywell and Inmarsat announced an agreement to develop and deliver commercial satellite communications (COMSATCOM) solutions to the U.S. government. The solutions will be focused on fixed-wing and non-fixed wing aeronautical platforms operating worldwide, including in Arctic regions. 

SAN FRANCISCO. Medical-focused virtual reality (VR) company SimX -- in a continuation of its partnership with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and U.S. Space Force -- won four new contracts totaling more than $1.5 million to develop innovative training solutions for special operations forces.

GERMANY. Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT has received an order from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) to equip the Royal Netherlands Army's Fennek armored reconnaissance vehicles with visual systems. The scope of the order includes 188 BAA II NL observation and reconnaissance systems as well as a number of spare parts.

WASHINGTON. Shift5, Inc., an operational technology data and cyber security company, has released a solution for real-time predictive maintenance technology for Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems. The solution combines hardware and software so platform owners and operators can gain visibility into their fleet health status to decrease maintenance costs and increase operational readiness.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Radiation Test Solutions (RTS) -- a company providing radiation-effects analysis and testing services for electronics and other materials -- has agreed to acquire Radtest Ltd., based in Harwell, England. 

DAVIDSON, N.C. Curtiss-Wright Corporation announced that it was selected by Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) to provide its Fortress flight recorder system to upgrade the T-6 Texan II trainer aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force and Navy. 

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. AeroVironment, Inc., company specializing in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), announced it was awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract by the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) that includes delivery and integration of Switchblade 600 tactical missile systems into specialized maritime platforms, scheduled to be completed by January 2023.

WHITE SALMON, Wash. Sagetech Avionics, an aerospace technology company providing situational awareness solutions for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and Pen Aviation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to integrate Sagetech Avionics' MXS transponders and Detect and Avoid (DAA) systems into the PEN 55V midsize drone and the PEN 1360V heavy cargo drone.

WILMINGTON, Mass. Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has won a BAE Systems Partner 2 Win Supplier of the Year Award, being named "Original Component Manufacturer of the Year for exceptional performance and contributions to supply chain success in 2020 for BAE Systems, Inc.’s Electronic Systems sector," according to the ADI award announcement.

FRANCE. Thales has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin as a tier-one supplier for the delivery of up to 55 airborne anti-submarine warfare sonars. The Airborne Low Frequency Sonar (ALFS) dipping sonars will be installed on the MH-60R platform for the U.S. Navy and three additional navies. Delivery of the first 42 systems will occur over the next five years with a delivery of 13 optional systems to occur in year six.

PLANO, Texas. The U.S. Navy has selected Martin UAV's V-BAT for a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial system (UAS) prototyping and development effort in order to fulfill new technological requirements driven by the evolving nature of threats in contested operating environments.

AMSTERDAM. The global market for naval sensors -- which had a market value of roughly $5 billion as of 2020 -- is expected to increase at a 5% combined annual growth rate (CAGR) until at least 2029, according to a new market study from Market Forecast, "Global Naval Sensors -- Market and Technology Forecast to 2029."

GERMANY. Sensor systems supplier HENSOLDT has won a contract in the frame of ‘Quadriga’ procurement program of 38 Eurofighter/Typhoon combat aircraft by the German Air Force. The contract placed by Airbus Defense and Space comprises production and delivery of radar systems and core electronics components which will be produced at HENSOLDT’s site in Ulm and at consortium partner Indra’s site in Spain.

RALEIGH, N.C. The U.S. Army Research Office awarded AURA Technologies a $50 million contract focused on artificial intelligence (AI)-based systems. AURA Technologies is a company that specializes in various aspects of AI, including machine learning algorithms for both time and frequency-domain data, computer vision, and image recognition.

PALO ALTO, Calif. Industrial security company Xage Security has won a contract with the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) to digitize and secure flightline maintenance operations.
