ASHBURN, Va. Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions began volume production shipment of its VPX3-530 dual channel ADC/DAC engine. The rugged low-latency transceiver module’s 12-bit ADC can be configured with either two 4 GSPS channels or four 2 GSPS channels. It also has two channels of 14-bit DAC data conversion at up to 5.6 GSPS on a single 3U OpenVPX card.

WASHINGTON. Researchers funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) have developed a computer chip with an architecture inspired by the neuronal structure of the brain that requires only a fraction of the electrical power of conventional chips. Defense applications where electrical power is limited such as mobile robots and remote sensors would benefit from the energy savings of the chip, which uses 100 times less power for complex processing than current devices.

Lockheed Martin gets extension on human spaceflight contract - News

ROCKVILLE, Md. Lockheed Martin won a three-year contract extension to provide facilities development and operations support of human spaceflight missions at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston. The contract lasts through at least September 30, 2016 with the extension valued at $340 million. The total contract value is now more than $1 billion.
