Lockheed Martin receives full rate production contract for SEWIP Block 2 systems - News

SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S. Navy officials awarded Lockheed Martin an initial $148.9 million contract for full rate production of Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 2 systems. The contract includes four additional option years and the company will provide additional systems to upgrade the AN/SLQ-32 systems on U.S. aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers, as well as other warships.

GPS Military Code security certification completed by L-3 Communications - News

NEW YORK. Officials at L-3 Communications completed certification process for the company?s next-generation Military Code (M-Code) GPS User Equipment. The development and certification of this technology was performed under the Air Force Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE) program led by the GPS Directorate within the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base.

U.S. Army's UH-60 displays units scheduled to be serviced by 2020 - News

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. U.S. Army officials selected Rockwell Collins to service the MFD-268C4 multi-function display (MFD) units for the UH-60M Black Hawk fleet. The follow-on indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract spans over five years and will service up to 2,160 units.

At the annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) meeting, Curtiss-Wright?s Defense Solutions division introduced the 3U embedded power supply that also delivers system I/O expansion without increasing slot count. The PSU3-THOR power supply combines dual XMC mezzanine slot expansion and a 6-port PCI Express (PCIe) Gen2 switch into a 3U VPX slot unit.

The U.S. military, looking to minimize training requirements, is channeling funding toward platform upgrades and autonomy especially in unmanned aircraft systems (UASs), say analysts at Frost & Sullivan. The U.S. Air Force wants to upgrade its UAS programs by deploying an open architecture, ensuring standards-based modularity to enable plug and play sensors and implementing quick hardware and software upgrades, according to Frost & Sullivan.
