Patriot and JLENS work together to shoot down target during test - News

TEWKSBURY, Mass. A pair of Raytheon systems with advanced radar capability, -- the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System and the Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor System (JLENS) ? worked in concert together to detect, track and take out a test target simulating an enemy cruise missile during a demonstration at the Utah Training and Test Range.

Final F-22 Raptor delivered to U.S. Air Force - News

MARIETTA, Ga. Lockheed Martin officials delivered today the final F-22 Raptor ? 195th overall -- to U.S. Air Force. The delivery was concluded in an official ceremony at Lockheed Martin?s facility in Marietta, Ga., with various government and local officials as well as the Lockheed Martin employees that helped build the F-22 Raptor fleet.

Saudi fighter jets to get electronic warfare upgrade from BAE Systems - News

NASHUA, N.H. Engineers at BAE Systems are upgrading the Electronic Warfare (EW) capability of F-15S fighter jets for the Royal Saudi air force today under a $367M contract. The company will install 70 Digital Electronic Warfare Systems (DEWS)/Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS) for the upgrade.

Navy's 20-year old ATC analog radar system gets digital facelift - News

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. U.S. Navy officials procured two more Raytheon radar systems to replace obsolete analog air traffic control (ATC) systems with digital technology. Military bases at New River, N.C., and Quantico, Va., will get the new radar systems. This procurement is part of an ongoing effort to upgrade the Navy?s analog ATC radars.

MEADS X-Band radar starts system-level integration testing - News

ROME, ITALY. The first Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) Multifunction Fire Control Radar (MFCR) started testing at Pratica di Mare Air Force Base, which is just outside of Rome, Italy. The system-level tests help the system prepare for an intercept flight test later this year. The advanced 360-degree rotating X-band radar finished initial performance tests at a near-field facility at SELEX Sistemi Integrati SpA in Rome. At Pratica di Mare, program engineers will start system-level integration tests using a MEADS battle manager and launcher.

Northrop Grumman air-flow-through cooling technique licensed by Curtiss-Wright for VPX systems - News

ASHBURN, VA. Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions (CWCDS) engineers are using Air-flow-through (AFT) cooling techniques from Northrop Grumman for use in rugged, military embedded systems. In compliance with the ANSI/VITA 48.5-2010 standard, CWCDS will use the AFT cooling on its VPX systems ? VITA 46/28/65 -- in C4ISR applications such as signals intelligence and radar signal processing.
