U.S. Army selects CALIBRE for TACOM strategic service solution contract - News

ALEXANDRIA, VA. CALIBRE Systems, Inc. has been selected as one of the prime contractors of a five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for the U.S. Army Tank and Automotive Command (TACOM). The strategic service solutions (TS3) contract with knowledge based service-type requirements is estimated at a value of $1.8 billion.

Cybersecurity demonstration and training center opened by Raytheon in Virginia - News

DULLES, Va. Raytheon officials opened a new cybersecurity demonstration and research facility in the Washington area this month, calling it the Global Cyber Solutions Center (GCSC), officially located in Sterling, Va. The new center is designed to aid U.S. government agencies, other nations, and companies understand how to best guard their networks and use the latest technologies and approaches, as well as training, to their existing cybersecurity programs.

FAIRFAX, Va. The third software release for the mission system computer (MSC) in U.S. Marine Corps’ AV-8B Harrier II aircraft was delivered to the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) by the General Dynamics Mission Systems’ Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) team.

Air Force, long-range radar contract award hits snag with court decision - News

Last fall Raytheon won a contract to be prime contractor on the Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar (3DELRR). The other competitors weren't happy about it and filed a protest, then Raytheon filed a suit to block the protest. Last month a judge ruled in favor of the protesters so the drama will continue.

Radar instrument delivered to Sentinel-1B satellite for Copernicus mission - News

FRANCE. The C-band radar instrument, built by Airbus Defence and Space, for the Copernicus Sentinel-1B satellite is en route to the spacecraft at Thales Alenia Space (TAS) in Italy, the prime contractor for the program. The satellite is scheduled to launch in 2016 to join Sentinel-1A after the integration and testing is complete.

DoD proposes Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) be located in Alaska - News

WASHINGTON. U.S. Department of Defense officials have proposed to deploy a planned Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) in the state of Alaska, pending completion of required environmental and safety studies. Existing plans call for the radar to begin its defensive operations in 2020.

New commercial cybersecurity joint venture - Raytheon|Websense - completed - News

WALTHAM, Mass. Raytheon Co. and Vista Equity Partners officials have completed a joint venture transaction that creates a new company combining Websense, a Vista Equity portfolio company, and Raytheon Cyber Products, a product line of Raytheon's Intelligence, Information, and Services business. The newly-formed commercial cybersecurity company will be named on an interim basis as Raytheon|Websense. Company leaders say they expect to introduce a new brand identity once they complete their integration efforts.

Radar displays for Thai air force get upgrade from Cambridge Pixel - News

Cambridge Pixel was selected by engineers at the Royal Thai air force (RTAF) headquarters at Don Muang Airbase, Bangkok, Thailand to upgrade its radar display technology and air defense processing at several strategic sites across their country -- such as air force bases and training facilities -- without replacing the existing and expensive radar sensors.

Searchwater radar to be used by new UK Merlin airborne surveillance helicopters - News

Officials at Lockheed Martin selected the latest generation of the Searchwater radar and Cerberus mission system from Thales Surveillance for use on the United Kingdom's Merlin helicopter.
