ORLANDO, Fla. Engineers at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control are continuing their ongoing modernization of the U.S. Army's AH-64E Apache attack helicopter with the Modernized Day Sensor Assembly (M-DSA). The assembly is an upgrade to the Apache’s targeting and Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS).

MCKINNEY, Texas. Raytheon won a $36 million Army contract to fund the certification and testing of a new upgrade to the AN/ARC-231 Multi-Mode Communications System. The enhanced systems will enable the highest level of security for voice and data communications for more than 7,000 fixed wing, rotary, and unmanned Army platforms – such as Blackhawks, Apaches, Gray Eagles and Chinooks.

WICHITA, Kan. The U.S. Navy’s Training Squadron Two based at NAS Whiting Field in Milton, Fla. received Beechcraft Defense Co.’s T-6B military training aircraft. The aircraft marks its 900th delivery for the company on its T-6 series and represents the 224th T-6B military trainer delivered to the U.S. Navy as part of the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) program.

FAIRFAX, Va. The U.S. Navy officials ordered more 56 AN/USC-61(C) Digital Modular Radios (DMRs) and related equipment from General Dynamics as part of contract won back 2010 to provide the radios for use on submarines, surface ships, and locations on shore. These radios, which will go onboard Navy destroyers and submarines currently under construction, will be able to use the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) waveform, which is the digital dial tone necessary for making voice calls to the U.S. Department of Defense's narrowband MUOS satellite communications system.
