Extension of NASA, Northrop Grumman Space Act Agreement continues use of Global Hawk for scientific research - News

SAN DIEGO. The NASA Dryden Flight Research Center and Northrop Grumman have agreed to extend the NASA Space Act Agreement, and will continue to cooperatively use the Global Hawk Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for global science research. The Space Act Agreement allows for shared use and expense of NASA Global Hawks, and the recent extension will keep the partnership in place until April 30, 2018. Northrop Grumman-produced UAS will perform missions such as atmospheric research and hurricane surveillance and will also explore new mission capabilities.

Completion of Project Hi-Lite to improve verification for high integrity systems - News

PARIS and NEW YORK. AdaCore has announced the completion of Project Hi-Lite, a joint research project focused on enhancing formal verification for multi-language, open-source software projects that require safety certification. Leveraging Airbus verification methods and industry tools, Project Hi-Lite combined formal proofs with testing and static analysis to improve the development of high integrity software. In the process, the Hi-Lite project also produced the first tools capable of integrating testing and formal verification for Ada and C programs.

The Triton Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) is a high-altitude UAS that will be used for surveillance missions by the U.S. Navy to monitor large ocean expanses and coastal regions.

Mobile air traffic control system for U.S. Air Force to be designed by Raytheon - News

Raytheon won a U.S. Air Force contract to produce rapidly deployable air traffic control (ATC) systems that can be deployed anywhere in the world and then be completely operational controlling flights within six hours. Under the contract, potentially valued at $260 million -- Raytheon engineers will produce one Engineering and Manufacturing Development unit with production options for as many as 18 Deployable Radar Approach Control (D-RAPCON) systems.
