Lockheed Martin to modernize USAF Theater Battle Management Core System - News
April 16, 2013
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. The U.S. Air Force has chosen Lockheed Martin to upgrade the Command and Control (C2) system that allows Joint Force Air Component Commanders (JFACCs) to deploy air assets and synchronize and execute air operations. Lockheed Martin will be responsible for modernization of the Air Tasking Order Management System (ATOMS) of the Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS), which directs flying operations for all JFACC airborne assets.

SABER Multi-Level Access security contracted to Northrop Grumman - News

FALLS CHURCH, VA. Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $40.5 million contract by the Department of Defense (DoD) to provide research, enhancement, and deployment for the Secure Access Baseline for the EnterpRise (SABER) Multi-Level Access (MLA) system. SABER is a cross-domain security solution for the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Agency (AFISRA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and other DoD agencies.

Comtech to develop Advanced TDMA Interface Processors for U.S. Navy - News

TEMPE, AZ. The U.S. Navy has awarded Comtech EF Data a contract to replace the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Interface Processor. As part of the $7.5 million agreement, Comtech will develop and produce the Advanced Time Division Multiple Access Interface Processor (ATIP) in place of its legacy predecessor.

Small satellite line launched by Boeing - News

Boeing engineers are designing new small satellite prototypes, dubbed Phantom Phoenix, that can be manufactured and configured quickly and cost-effectively for specific missions such as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and planetary science. Each satellite unit would share flight software, common architecture, ,and simplified payload integration options.

G/ATOR Radar System finishes government testing - News

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. Northrop Grumman's AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) system finished two phases of government developmental testing at the U.S. military's Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) and already has moved into the next phase of developmental testing to prepare for the future operational assessment with the U.S. Marine Corps.

X-band and S-band radars for Cobra Judy Replacement program complete live-launch tests - News

TEWKSBURY, MA. Raytheon engineers completed first tests of the radars for the Conra Judy Replacement (CJR) program against the launch of a live rocket. The X- and S-band radars that were integrated on the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen (T-AGM 25) acquired and tracked each stage of an Atlas V rocket that was launched from Cape Canaveral and then collected all the associated data.

U.S. Navy taps Northrop Grumman for NGC2P tactical data link processor upgrade - News

SAN DIEGO. Northrop Grumman has been contracted $80 million to enhance the Next Generation Command and Control Processor (NGC2P), a shipboard tactical data link communications processor that provides real-time combat information about friendly and enemy activity. The five-year indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery award was issued January 9th by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), San Diego. The contract also contains a two-year option worth an additional $15 million.

NASA UAVSAR nears mission completion, prepares for Global Hawk port - News

WASHINGTON. The NASA Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAVSAR) is concluding a month-long scientific mission over the Americas this week, studying questions that range from the dynamics of Earth’s crust to the carbon cycle. The imaging system departed from the Dryden Aircraft Operations Facility in Palmdale, CA, on March 7 aboard a NASA C-20A piloted aircraft, and has conducted research studies over Arizona, the U.S. Gulf Coast, and Central and South America. The NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA built and manages the UAVSAR.

Navy's electronic warfare ship defense system to be upgraded by Lockheed Martin - News

SYRACUSE, NY. Lockheed Martin won a $57 million contract to modernize the U.S. Navy’s electronic warfare defenses for anti-ship missile threats. Lockheed Martin engineers will upgrade the AN/SLQ-32(V)2 system that is on all U.S. cruisers, aircraft carriers, destroyers and other warships that have the capability to determine if the electronic sensors from potential enemies are stalking the ship.

OMAHA, NE. The Flight Simulyzer (F-SIM) avionics databus protocol analyzer has been released for Linux Operating Systems by Avionics Interface Technologies (AIT). F-SIM is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) bus analyzer for analyzing, configuring, and controlling data from ARINC 429, ARINC 664/AFDX, and MIL-STD-1553 buses. It has been tested in CentOS Linux, Debian, and Ubuntu environments.

NATICK, MA. The MathWorks Phased Array System Toolbox has been updated with MATLAB and Simulink to accelerate modeling and simulation of radar systems. The Phased Array System Toolbox is an end-to-end tool for modeling radar data processing or phased array systems using array perturbations, broadband arrays, and polarization. The enhancements in Release 2013a (R2013a) allow developers to model more complex scenarios.

Radar technology from Cassidian to be provided to Canadian air force - News

UNTERSCHLEISSHEIM, Germany. Cassidian engineers will be equipping Royal Canadian air force airfields with new airport surveillance radars. Canadian contracting authority Public Works and Services Canada officials tasked Cassidian with delivering seven of its ASR NG airport surveillance radars to enhance flight safety on Canadian airbases and to improve military aviation integration into civil air traffic.
