(GA-ASI) announced that it has flown a company-owned MQ-9A Block 5 Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) equipped with a newly developed Centerline Avionics Bay (CAB). The CAB is intended to provide space to incorporate critical new capabilities for GA-ASI customers.

TOKYO. Renesas Electronics Corporation, supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, announced that its radiation-hardened (rad-hard) integrated circuits (ICs) were onboard the Hayabusa2 spacecraft that returned asteroid samples to Earth in an armored re-entry capsule on December 6, 2020. Operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Hayabusa2 launched onboard the H-IIA rocket from the Tanegashima Space Center on December 3, 2014.

FRANCE. Tawazun and MBDA announced that the companies have signed a head of terms agreement with the intent to cooperate in the field of smart guided weapon systems. The aim is to create a long-term partnership between Tawazun and MBDA, enabling the development of the SmartGlider weapon systems from design to production phase.

UNITED KINGDOM. Following its testing and entry into service with the UK’s Royal Air Force, Leonardo announced that its BriteCloud capability is now being evaluated for use by U.S. Armed Forces.

HERNDON, Va. DTC, a wireless communications company, announced that it has launched a Robust High Power (RH) variant of the NETNode Phase 5 IP Mesh Radio. Phase 5 is the latest generation of DTC's NETNode Mesh family, offering built-in dual HD video encoders and Multi-In Multi-Out (MIMO) capability to deliver high data throughput and power output. According to the company, the NETNode is available in 4W, 10W, and now 30W total power output variants.

FRANCE. Thales has announced that with the launch of full-scale development of France's third generation of nuclear-powered ballistic-missile submarines (SNLE 3G), the company is developing a new sonar suite based on disruptive technologies.
