STOCKHOLM, Sweden. Saab has introduced a new deployment set for its Giraffe 1X radar system that aims to enhance the radar's portability and speed of setup—particularly in dynamic battlefields and areas facing multidirectional air threats—and will showcase it at the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2023 event in London, England, the company announced in a statement.

KARLSKRONA, Sweden. Saab has begun the production of composite masts for the Finnish Navy's upcoming vessels, with the first of four masts marked by a cutting ceremony at Saab’s facility in Karlskrona, the company announced in a statement.

GDANSK, Poland. The construction of the first of two new signal intelligence (SIGINT) ships for the Polish Navy is underway at Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. The process was initiated with a keel-laying ceremony, marking a key stage in the shipbuilding process, according to a statement from Saab, who won the contract in November 2022.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden. Saab's Arexis sensor suite has been selected by Germany's defence procurement office (BAAINBw) to be integrated into the German Eurofighter for electronic warfare (EW) adaptation, according to a company announcement.

U.S. NAVAL UNDERSEA WARFARE CENTER, Newport, R.I. The U.S. Navy's Naval Undersea Warfare Center has awarded Saab the initial production order for the company's Expendable Mobile Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Target (EMATT), a small (under 25 pounds) sonobuoy-sized device programmed for various antisubmarine warfare training scenarios that can be used with naval surface ships, submarines, and aircraft. 

LINKOPING, Sweden. Saab has signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) under which Saab will ensure the continued operability of the JAS 39 Gripen C/D fighter aircraft and install capability enhancements to the aircraft's engine, electronic warfare (EW), and radar capabilities. 

NEWPORT, R.I. The U.S. Navy's Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport has contracted with Saab to modernize and qualify the MK39 EMATT [expendable mobile antisubmarine warfare training target], a small (3 feet/22 pounds) sonobuoy-size unmanned underwater vessel (UUV) programmed to conduct various anti-submarine warfare (ASW) training scenarios.
