SWEDEN. Saab is launching a ruggedized, 5G communication system for military and crisis operations at the Umex SimTEX 2022 exhibition in the United Arab Emirates called DeployNet.

HUNGARY. The Hungarian Government Commissioner Office responsible for defense development and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) have completed the negotiations for the MS20 Block 2 capability upgrade to the Hungarian fleet of Gripen fighter aircraft. Saab will deliver the upgrade.

SWEDEN. Saab has signed a contract for multi-role Sea Giraffe AMB naval radars antenna kits, for the upgrade of the Royal Canadian Navy’s Halifax Class frigates. The contract also includes associated equipment and spare parts.

SWEDEN. Saab has announced the launch of a new mobile high-mast solution with the Finnish partner Conlog Oy for efficient deployment in order to address low-altitude threats such as cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the battlefield.

SYRACUSE, New York. Saab has won a $32.24 million contract with the U.S. Navy to implement its MK 9 Tracker Illuminator System Replacement Continuous Wave Tracking Illuminator that is aimed at upgrading the Raytheon MK 57 NATO Seasparrow surface-to-air missile system on board aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships. 

GERMANY. Saab has signed a contract with the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw), and has received an order to deliver and integrate new naval radars and fire control directors for and in the German Navy’s Frigates of the Brandenburg-Class (F123).

YUMA PROVING GROUND, Ariz. Saab, in cooperation with the U.S. Army and Raytheon Missiles & Defense, has demonstrated the new Guided Multipurpose Munition (GMM). The GMM System Capability Demonstration was a joint activity between Saab and Raytheon Missiles & Defense, funded under a U.S. Government Rapid Innovation Funding (RIF) effort awarded by the U.S. Army.
