Testing and installation complete for NASA's Deep Space Network antennas - News

SAN JOSE, Calif. Engineers at General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies completed the installation and testing of two of NASA?s 34-meter beam waveguide antennas, which will improve communications and tracking of space probes on Mars and other spacecraft. The antenna?s are part of NASA?s Deep Space Network (DSN) and will also help scientists explore the universe.

USS Zumwalt joins the fleet; homeport to be San Diego - News

BATH, Maine. U.S. Navy officials accepted the delivery of the first USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000) class ship, the next-generation of multi-mission surface vessels. The ship will be commissioned in Baltimore following delivery and crew certification at General Dynamics-Bath Iron Works on October 15, Navy officials say. Mission System Activation will continue in conjunction with Post Delivery Availability in San Diego, the ship's homeport.

More Digital Modular Radios from General Dynamics ordered by U.S. Navy - News

FAIRFAX, Va. The U.S. Navy officials ordered more 56 AN/USC-61(C) Digital Modular Radios (DMRs) and related equipment from General Dynamics as part of contract won back 2010 to provide the radios for use on submarines, surface ships, and locations on shore. These radios, which will go onboard Navy destroyers and submarines currently under construction, will be able to use the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) waveform, which is the digital dial tone necessary for making voice calls to the U.S. Department of Defense's narrowband MUOS satellite communications system.
