HUNT VALLEY, Md. Lockheed Martin selected Textron Systems' Advanced Architecture Phase Amplitude and Time Simulator (A2PATS) for simulation testing of the F-35 Lightning II electronic warfare (EW) systems. Under contract, Textron Systems engineers will provide threat simulation capability in the F-35 Norwegian, Italian Reprogramming Lab (NIRL) located at Eglin Air Force base, in support of international partners.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. The fifth Lockheed Martin-built Mobile User Objective System (MUOS-5) satellite for the U.S. Navy has reached orbit and deployed its solar arrays and antennas. The satellite will begin on-orbit testing before being turned over to the Navy for further testing and eventual commissioning into service.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S. Navy officials awarded Lockheed Martin an initial $148.9 million contract for full rate production of Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 2 systems. The contract includes four additional option years and the company will provide additional systems to upgrade the AN/SLQ-32 systems on U.S. aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers, as well as other warships.
