DHS adds Northrop Grumman to critical infrastructure cybersecurity program - News

FALLS CHURCH, VA. Northrop Grumman has signed a memorandum of agreement to join the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Enhanced Cybersecurity Services (ECS) program. The agreement will enable expansion of cybersecurity protection for U.S. critical infrastructure. Northrop Grumman has begun the security accreditation approval process required in order to operate as a Commercial Service Provider (CSP) in the ECS program.

BlackBerry 10, Samsung KNOX approved for use on DoD networks - News

WATERLOO, ON and LONDON, UK. In two separate announcements late last week, both BlackBerry and Samsung Electronics revealed that BlackBerry 10 smartphones and BlackBerry PlayBook tablets running BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 and Samsung KNOX-enabled smartphones and tablets have been approved for use on U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) networks. The devices were successfully qualified against Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) standards by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and will be placed on the Unified Communications Approved Product List (UC APL).

Low Frequency Sensor radar cues Multifunction Fire Control Radar in 360-degree MEADS demonstration - News

ORLANDO, FL. A Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) Low-Frequency Sensor has cued a Multifunction Fire Control Radar (MFCR) in a demonstration at Hancock Airport in Syracuse, N.Y. The UHF Low-Frequency Sensor acquired, tracked, and relayed the location of a small test aircraft to the MEADS Battle Manager. The Battle Manager then produced corresponding cue search commands for the X-band MFCR, which searched the cued area and set up a dedicated track once the target was acquired.

The five-year indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery award was issued January 9th by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), San Diego. The contract also contains a two-year option worth an additional $15 million.

NASA UAVSAR nears mission completion, prepares for Global Hawk port - News

WASHINGTON. The NASA Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAVSAR) is concluding a month-long scientific mission over the Americas this week, studying questions that range from the dynamics of Earth’s crust to the carbon cycle. The imaging system departed from the Dryden Aircraft Operations Facility in Palmdale, CA, on March 7 aboard a NASA C-20A piloted aircraft, and has conducted research studies over Arizona, the U.S. Gulf Coast, and Central and South America. The NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA built and manages the UAVSAR.

OMAHA, NE. The Flight Simulyzer (F-SIM) avionics databus protocol analyzer has been released for Linux Operating Systems by Avionics Interface Technologies (AIT). F-SIM is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) bus analyzer for analyzing, configuring, and controlling data from ARINC 429, ARINC 664/AFDX, and MIL-STD-1553 buses. It has been tested in CentOS Linux, Debian, and Ubuntu environments.

NATICK, MA. The MathWorks Phased Array System Toolbox has been updated with MATLAB and Simulink to accelerate modeling and simulation of radar systems. The Phased Array System Toolbox is an end-to-end tool for modeling radar data processing or phased array systems using array perturbations, broadband arrays, and polarization. The enhancements in Release 2013a (R2013a) allow developers to model more complex scenarios.
