Code analysis tool zooms like Google Earth when analyzing millions of lines of code - Other

SAN JOSE, Calif. Engineers at GrammaTech announced a new tool this week that actually makes code analysis fun. Seriously, their new tool -- which works with their CodeSonar static analysis tool ? functions much like Google Earth, but instead of zooming in on your neighbor?s house you?re zooming down to view individual lines of code in systems that contain as much as 20 million lines of code. They released it this week at the Design West conference in San Jose, Calif.

SAN JOSE, CALIF. Texas Instruments (TI) engineers (TI) released three new products built on its KeyStone multicore architecture that uses the TMS320C66x digital signal processor (DSP) generation at the DesignWest show in San Jose, Calif., this week. The devices are ideal for radar applications from portable to large-scale radar systems as well as software defined radio (SDR) applications, said Ramesh Kumar, business manager for multicore processors at TI.

AMD graphics processors drive realistic fluid simulation display at DesignWest - Other

SAN JOSE, CALIF. Tech Source engineers at the AMD booth at DesignWest this week in San Diego are using AMD processing technology on their Condor 3000x board to drive a simulation of honey dripping off a tree trunk on an interactive (touchscreen) display. By touching the screen a user can virtually make it change texture and drip down the trunk.

The GNAT Pro Ada development environment will be a primary tool set to help produce the Operation Flight Program for the Embraer AMX Jet Modernization program. PATUXENT RIVER, Md. -- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) engineers are weaponizing the MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned helicopter for an urgent request from the U.S. This is the first time the Navy has armed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Weapons planned for the Fire Scout include a laser-guided rocket, the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS).

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. The Phantom Eye High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) completed its first medium-speed taxi test. The test took place at Edwards Air Force Base in cooperation with officials at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center. Phantom Eye reached speeds of as fast as 30 knots while ground personnel relayed directions and data using Boeing?s Common Open-mission Management Command and Control (COMC2) system.
