DUBLIN, Ireland. A new report predicts that the global market for aircraft anntennas will increase from $461.7 million in 2022 to $618.2 million by 2026 for a compound annaul growth rate (CAGR) of 6.6%.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is moving into Phase 2 of its No Manning Required Ship (NOMARS) program, which seeks to build and demonstrate a revolutionary new medium unmanned surface vessel (MUSV) that can go to sea and perform missions with unprecedented reliability and availability, while carrying a significant payload. The agency selected Serco Inc.’s design to move forward at the conclusion of Phase 1.

CARLSBAD, California. Viasat Inc. has won a $99 million order for tactical radios from U.S. Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) as part of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), the company announced in a statement.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. BAE Systems and the U.S. Navy finalized a contract worth $42.6 million for production of seven Network Tactical Common Data Link (NTCDL) systems, which will enable the Navy to simultaneously transmit and receive real-time intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance data from multiple sources and enables the exchange of command and control information over multiple data links. 

REDSTONE ARSENAL -- HUNTSVILLE, Ala. The U.S. Army Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing/Space (APNT/Space) Cross-Functional Team (CFT) reported that its stratospheric flight demonstration using the solar-powered Airbus Zephyr 8 ultra-long-endurance solar-powered unmanned aircraft system (UAS) ended after 64 days, with the Zephyr remaining aloft for more than double its intended 30-day continuous flight.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. Collins Aerospace has conducted a flight test of an airborne reconnaissance sensor on an F-16 on behalf of an unidentified international customer, the company announced in a statement.

Inmarsat Government has won a contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for the U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command Next-Generation Wideband (NGW) follow-on contract for "worldwide end-to-end commercial satellite communications services," the company announced in a statement.

ARLINGTON, Va. Unmanned-systems manufacturer AeroVironment has announced its acquisition of Planck Aerosystems, a San Diego-based provider of advanced unmanned aircraft navigation solutions. 

NASHUA, N.H. BAE Systems Electronic Systems group won a contract from Lockheed Martin to design and manufacture next-generation infrared (IR) seeker technology for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptor missile, a U.S. anti-ballistic-missile defense system that was designed to shoot down short-, medium-, and intermediate-range ballistic missiles in their descent or reentry phase. 

PORTLAND, Ore.  The global market for unmanned aerial systems (UASs) used for military purposes, which generated $11.60 billion in 2021, is expected to total $34.34 billion by 2031, experiencing a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.7% during that period, according to a new market study from Allied Market Research. 

ARLINGTON, Virginia. BlueHalo Titan Defense has won a $24 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense for multiple Titan C-UAS systems, manufacturer BlueHalo announced in a statement.
