DHS selects Raytheon for cybersecurity solutions - News

DULLES, Va. Raytheon will provide full lifecycle development and sustainment support as the prime contractor and system integrator for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Network Security Deployment (NSD) division. The single award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract over five years with an option for some orders to extend up to an additional two years, is valued at an estimated $1 billion.

Mobile security applications leverage university research in contract with DHS - News

MCLEAN, Va. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate has tasked Northrop Grumman to develop biometric solutions to enhance mobile security for users. Under the Mobile Technology Security (MTS) research and development contract, valued at an estimated $1.7 million, the company will leverage university research projects to enhance security on mobile devices for federal customers.

DARPA looking for new composite material & process for manufacturing small parts - News

ARLINGTON, Virginia. Officials at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) want to make the manufacturing of small parts for military systems simpler, faster, and less costly so they have launched the Tailorable Feedstock and Forming (TFF) program, which looks at reducing the time and cost burdens associated with current manufacturing design and development cycles for defense platforms. TFF aims to cut the turnaround time for part modifications and redesigns by as much as 50 percent.

Next Generation Jammer design expanded at Naval Air Warfare Center - News

CHINA LAKE, Calif. Engineers at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) at Point Magu are bulking up Raytheon’s Next Generation jammer. Raytheon reports active testing for the jammer at China Lake, California, and authorities at Weapons Division say there are joint plans to integrate the new design into the EA-18G Growler.

DARPA's PCAS system prototype demonstration completed - News

ARLINGTON, Va. The U.S. Air Force and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) conducted a demonstration of DARPA’s Persistent Close Air Support (PCAS) prototype system on an A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft. The demonstration consisted of 50 sorties near Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada showing that a warfighter serving as a joint terminal attack controller (JTAC) on the ground can coordinate with a pilot and command an airstrike with a few clicks on a tablet.
