HAWTHORNE, Calif. Satellite-communications firm ThinKom Solutions reports that the U.S. Army -- through the Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires’ Program Manager for Advanced Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System Effects (PM ACE) vehicle -- awarded it an Other Transaction prototype project to deliver and evaluate mobile high-power microwave counter-uncrewed aerial system (CUAS) capability.

SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA. The U.S. Army is close to awarding Global Military Products (GMP), a subsidiary of Global Ordnance Holdings, an agreement to supply the service with the Scorpion Light 81 mm mobile mortar system. James Knight, GMP Director of Business Development, stated that the branch and the company are currently “in the final stages of procuring 16 systems.”

SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA. The U.S. Army will conduct trials with the new Polaris Voyager 155 series snowmobile in Q1 2027 as part of its effort to increase its mobility in the Arctic and in extreme cold scenarios. The announcement was made during the SOF Week 2026 show, currently underway in Tampa.  

PHOENIX, Ariz.  Mission-critical software provider DDC-I announced that the U.S. Army selected its safety-critical Deos real-time operating system (RTOS) for the Army’s modular open systems approach (MOSA) aligned High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES) aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) program. 

SAN MATEO, Calif. Uncrewed aerial system (UAS) manufacturer Skydio announced an order from the U.S. Army for more than 2,500 X10D UASs, which the company said is worth upwards of $52 million. 

ALEXANDRIA, Va. Parry Labs announced it is teaming with AeroVironment to design, develop, and integrate modular open systems approach (MOSA) aligned digital engineering, software, and mission system hardware for the U.S. Army's P550 uncrewed aerial system (UAS), a key part of the Army's Long Range Reconnaissance (LRR) program.
