SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA, Fla. The K4 MANTA uncrewed surface and subsurface vehicle (USSV) -- developed by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and robotic-vessel maker Kraken Technology Group -- conducted multiple demonstrations at the SOF Week 2026 exhibition in Tampa, underway now.

SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA, Fla. Despite the progress made by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and its branches and agencies over the past several years, the U.S. military still faces a number of challenges as it seeks to further the implementation and operation of uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs). Some of these issues are related to the DoD’s acquisition approach and the need to build trust in these uncrewed capabilities. 

SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA. The U.S. Army is close to awarding Global Military Products (GMP), a subsidiary of Global Ordnance Holdings, an agreement to supply the service with the Scorpion Light 81 mm mobile mortar system. James Knight, GMP Director of Business Development, stated that the branch and the company are currently “in the final stages of procuring 16 systems.”

SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA. The U.S. Army will conduct trials with the new Polaris Voyager 155 series snowmobile in Q1 2027 as part of its effort to increase its mobility in the Arctic and in extreme cold scenarios. The announcement was made during the SOF Week 2026 show, currently underway in Tampa.

SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA. Anduril and Booz Allen Hamilton announced at SOF Week 2026 -- currently underway in Tampa -- a partnership intended to enhance security for Special Operations personnel at the tactical edge. The collaboration involves integrating solutions from both companies to enable coalition teams to share situational-awareness information without requiring a common architecture.

SOF WEEK 2026--TAMPA.  The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) intends to expand its vendor base by engaging more nontraditional and small businesses in its acquisition and development programs, stated a USSOCOM acquisitions executive today during an address at this week's SOF Week 2026 exhibition (May 18-21) in Tampa, Florida. She added that the service is interested in working with non-prime vendors to address capability gaps in its inventory.

This growing interest has been reflected in acquisition programs worldwide, with armed forces trying to speed up the procurement and deployment of systems.

The proliferation of uncrewed aerial systems (UASs) across every theatre of operations has become an increasing concern for military services worldwide, as UAS maneuverability and capacity to fly low, through the trees, and around buildings challenge detection systems, putting defense installations and facilities at risk.

CORTEX was engineered to provide intelligent integration and mission-adaptable configurations, turning helmets into multi-role tools. 

SOF WEEK 2025 -- Tampa, Fla. The proliferation of aerial threats and the need for better equipment for personnel on the battlefield have been pushing industry and military services toward developing passive sensors and implementing their use in counter-uncrewed aerial system (c-UAS) missions.

Octasic, a Canadian supplier of joint all-domain solutions for unmanned systems (UxS), introduced its Wraith ultra-compact multimission solution at the SOF Week 2025 exhibition, now underway in Tampa, Florida. The capability is expected to be available in the market by the last quarter of 2025. 

SOF WEEK 2025 -- Tampa, Fla. SFC Energy AG, a Germany-based supplier of power solutions, unveiled its next generation of portable tactical fuel cell systems at the currently underway SOF Week exhibition in Tampa. The capability was designed to address defense and public-security forces’ growing power demands during dismounted operations. 

SOF WEEK 2025 -- Tampa, Fla. Bounce Imaging, a supplier of ruggedized, 360-degree ISR [intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance] cameras for military and first responders, is showcasing its new Recce360 Deep Inspection Camera at this week's SOF Week exhibition. The solution was developed to address the potential hostile seizure of a nuclear-weapons silo.

SOF WEEK 2025 -- Tampa, Fla. The need to provide more realistic planning and simulation capabilities to military personnel has pushed the industry toward developing and improving holographic solutions. Although it still seems a bit like sci-fi, this type of technology has been gaining ground across the globe by promising to enable better preparing warfighters for tomorrow’s warfare.

SOF WEEK 2025 -- Tampa, Fla. Viasat Government -- the Carlsbad, California-based supplier of communications, networking, and satellite solutions -- will unveil its Move Out/Jump Off (MOJO) Mini Next today at SOF Week 2025, currently being held in Tampa. The capability was designed to deliver a compact and ruggedized Link 16 Tactical Data Link situational awareness capability for at-the-pause or on-the-move applications.
