AeroVironment, Inc., company specializing in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), announced the U.S. Army has exercised an option on its Lethal Miniature Aerial Missile Systems (LMAMS) contract for additional Switchblade 300 tactical missile systems for the Army and for export to an allied nation.

The value of the contract option is $20,979,905 and includes avionics and data link upgrade packages to modify radio frequencies employed by the Army’s existing fleet of Raven tactical UAS.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. AeroVironment, Inc., a privately-held provider of Group 2 and 3 unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and services, announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which AeroVironment will acquire Arcturus UAV for a total purchase price of $405 million, including $355 million in cash and $50 million in AeroVironment stock.

Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) maker AeroVironment has agreed to acquire Telerob (Ostfildern, Germany), a maker of ground robotic solutions or unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), for approximately $45.4 million (37.5 million euros) in cash and a payoff of about $9.4 million (7.8 million euros) of Telerob’s debt at closing.

CARLSBAD and SIMI VALLEY, Calif. Viasat Inc., a global communications company, and AeroVironment, Inc., company specializing in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), announced they will collaborate on a contract awarded under the U.S. Army Reconfigurable Communications for Small Unmanned Systems (RCSUS) initiative. The project will aim to provide U.S. military customers flying small UAS platforms the ability to deploy a robust, on-demand, highly-secure communications network that will address growing electronic warfare capabilities of adversaries.
