TYSONS, VA. Software company CORAS has won a prototype project agreement (PPA) with the U.S. Navy’s Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic for the Information Warfare Research Project (IWRP) that aimes to use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to improve and troubleshoot shipboard information technology (IT) systems.

SYRACUSE, New York. Saab has won a $32.24 million contract with the U.S. Navy to implement its MK 9 Tracker Illuminator System Replacement Continuous Wave Tracking Illuminator that is aimed at upgrading the Raytheon MK 57 NATO Seasparrow surface-to-air missile system on board aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships. 

CHANTILLY, Va. Defense/national-security company VTG has been chosen by the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division, to outfit additional ships in the U.S. fleet with an innovative laser designed to counter threats from unmanned aerial systems (UASs). 

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. Raytheon Intelligence & Space has won a $171.6 million contract to begin Low- Rate Initial Production for its Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) program, an advanced electronic attack system that is intended to give military pilots the ability to deny, disrupt, and degrade hostile technology, including communications tools and air-defense systems.
