Kitron AS and Northrop Grumman sign agreement for F-35 aircraft avionics - News

SAN DIEGO. Norway-based company Kitron AS and Northrop Grumman have signed a long-term agreement, in which Northrop Grumman will supply subassembly electronic modules for F-35 Lighting II aircraft avionics. The agreement includes rights for future extensions and is effective through 2036.

Latvia to get Sentinel radars from ThalesRaytheonSystems - News

FULLERTON, California. Latvian armed forces officials are procuring four improved Sentinel AN/MPQ-64 F1 air defense radars from ThalesRaytheonSystems. The Sentinel systems will complement Latvia's existing defense network by detecting, identifying, and tracking airborne threats such as cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

U.S. Air Force officials selected Boeing as the prime contractor to upgrade existing F-15 aircrafts with the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) and in a subcontract BAE Systems will develop and manufacture EPAWSS for Boeing. The initial prime contract’s estimated value is $4 billion.

DARPA looking for new composite material & process for manufacturing small parts - News

Officials at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) want to make the manufacturing of small parts for military systems simpler, faster, and less costly so they have launched the Tailorable Feedstock and Forming (TFF) program, which looks at reducing the time and cost burdens associated with current manufacturing design and development cycles for defense platforms. TFF aims to cut the turnaround time for part modifications and redesigns by as much as 50 percent.
