SEA-AIR-SPACE 2023--NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. Insitu (a Boeing company) announced the debut of its Integrator vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft system (UAS) at this week's Navy League's Sea-Air-Space conference and exhibition. 

Integrator VTOL launches vertically on ships or land without sacrificing payload capacity or endurance. 

HALSTENBEK, Germany. Embedded solution company TEWS Technologies introduced its TPMC543 32-bit/33 MHz single-wide PCI mezzanine card (PMC) module intended for use in simulation applications, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) specifications, and industrial/traffic control areas.

MANCHESTER, N.H. BAE Systems has received $491 million in contracts from Lockheed Martin to produce Block 4 electronic warfare (EW) systems for future Lot 17 F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft; these new contracts are in addition to the 1,200 F-35 EW systems the company has delivered to date.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. Green Hills Software says that fixed-wing autonomous flight company Merlin (Boston, Massachusetts) will use the Green Hills Software INTEGRITY-178 tuMP real-time operating system (RTOS) for its autonomous flight solution, running on the PU-3000 multicore avionics computer from CMC Electronics (Montreal, Canada), which will host the flight-control software that enables autonomous flying.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. Cybersecurity firm Summit 7 is collaborating with Microsoft to deploy the Microsoft Azure Government Secret cloud to Defense Industrial Base (DIB) partners to handle sensitive data on behalf of the Department of Defense. 

COLUMBIA, Md. Secure-systems provider Owl Cyber Defense Solutions has won an increase totaling $35 million to a previously awarded contract with the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) to produce and install secure collaborative technology software and hardware for the Air Force.

NAVAL AIR STATION PATUNXET RIVER, Md. The U.S. Navy and Raytheon Technologies report that Raytheon completed delivery on all 23 contracted Joint Precision Approach and Landing Systems low-rate production units to the Navy on time or ahead of schedule. 

ARLINGTON, Va. RF technology provider CAES announced that its 3U converter was chosen to be part of the US Air Force (USAF) MIRAGE airborne electronic warfare (EW) pod demonstration. The new SOSA-aligned 3U wideband RF converter was recently sent to Georgia Tech Research Institute for integration into the demonstration. 

SAN DIEGO. Cubic Mission and Performance Solutions (CMPS) won a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Research & Development (R&D) program for Halo-Enabled Resilient Mesh (HERMes) software and a hardware prototype, both of which are intended to boost the technological capabilities of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) high-capacity backbone (HCB).

WASHINGTON. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded spots on its ProTech 2.0 Satellite Domain Task Order contract to 15 small businesses; going forward, these awardees will compete for task orders on the potential 10-year, $8 billion funding vehicle to help NOAA manage its space and environmental data satellites.

Walk around any defense-industry trade show floor in the last several years, or talk to defense-industry company officials, and one of the most pressing topics is the “gray-hair” issue.
