CARLSBAD, California. Viasat Inc. has won a $99 million order for tactical radios from U.S. Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) as part of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), the company announced in a statement.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. BAE Systems and the U.S. Navy finalized a contract worth $42.6 million for production of seven Network Tactical Common Data Link (NTCDL) systems, which will enable the Navy to simultaneously transmit and receive real-time intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance data from multiple sources and enables the exchange of command and control information over multiple data links. 

REDSTONE ARSENAL -- HUNTSVILLE, Ala. The U.S. Army Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing/Space (APNT/Space) Cross-Functional Team (CFT) reported that its stratospheric flight demonstration using the solar-powered Airbus Zephyr 8 ultra-long-endurance solar-powered unmanned aircraft system (UAS) ended after 64 days, with the Zephyr remaining aloft for more than double its intended 30-day continuous flight.

NASHUA, N.H. BAE Systems Electronic Systems group won a contract from Lockheed Martin to design and manufacture next-generation infrared (IR) seeker technology for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptor missile, a U.S. anti-ballistic-missile defense system that was designed to shoot down short-, medium-, and intermediate-range ballistic missiles in their descent or reentry phase.
