ARLINGTON, Va. The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) chose four companies to develop a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) craft that operates at highers speeds than the current V-22 Osprey tiltrotor military aircraft.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands. The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with a minimum of 18 F-16 fighter aircraft, according to a statement issued by the Dutch government.

HELSINGBORG, Sweden. Rugged IT provider MilDef reports that Swedish mission-critical network-security firm Clavister ordered MilDef's hardware as part of a contract valued at 97 million SEK ($9.6 million).

OTTAWA, Ontario. General Dynamics Mission Systems--Canada won four contracts cumulatively valued at up to $1.68 billion Canadian ($1.3 billion) with the government of Canada to support the land command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) system for the Canadian army.

ARLINGTON, Va. The Space Systems Command (SSC) of the U.S. Space Force (USSF) announced the fourth Phase 2 engineering change award for a satellite communications (SATCOM) enterprise management and control (EM&C) contract (fifth engineering change award overall) to a team led by RKF Engineering Solutions (RKF). 

GOLETA, California. Raytheon will build a prototype of an advanced electronic warfare system for the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet as part of a new contract with the U.S. Navy, the company announced in a statement.

TUCSON, Ariz. Raytheon will design, build, and test two high-power microwave antenna systems for the U.S. military that will use directed energy to defeat airborne threats; the systems are intended to be rugged and transportable for use on the front lines where needed. 

MADRID, Spain. Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace won a contract from the Spanish navy to provide Naval Strike Missiles (NSM), the company announced in a statement. Valued at EUR 305 million, this contract will result in the first deployment of the NSM on the F-110 class frigate, presently being built by Navantia.

WICHITA, Kan. Wichita State University (WSU) announced that its FirePoint Innovations Center has been selected to deliver Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub programming for the National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) through the newly established Great Plains Mission Acceleration Center (MAC), part of a national network of resources designed to connect small businesses, academia, and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to support defense-focused technology development.
