DARPA has progressed to the third phase of its Control of Revolutionary Aircraft with Novel Effectors (CRANE) program, and Aurora Flight Sciences will now build a full-scale X-plane, the X-65, which will employ active flow control (AFC) actuators as its primary flight control method, the agency reports.

TUCSON, Ariz. Raytheon (an RTX business) won a $345 million contract with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to produce and deliver more than 1,500 StormBreaker smart weapons, which are air-to-surface, network-enabled weapons that can engage moving targets in all weather conditions using a multi-effects warhead and tri-mode seeker.

CARLSBAD, California. Viasat has won a $900 million contract from the U.S. Air Force's Life Cycle Management Center (USAF LCMC) for the development of new technologies and capabilities, the company announced in a statement.

ARLINGTON, Va. The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) DARPA named three industry partners for its Underexplored Systems for Utility-Scale Quantum Computing (US2QC) program, which seeks to determine whether an underexplored approach to quantum computing can achieve utility-scale operation – in other words, that its computational value exceeds its cost – faster than conventional predictions.   

NASA--KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla.  The U.S. Space Force successfully launched the X-37B orbital test vehicle (OTV), an autonomous spaceplane, into orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, marking the start of the OTV's seventh mission.

SEOUL, South Korea. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has signed a contract with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to provide its ADA GPS anti-jamming systems for the Light Armed Helicopter (LAH) 2nd Phase Production, the company announced in a statement.

BANGKOK, Thailand. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has won a contract with the Royal Thai Navy to provide six of its Sea Mini-POP sensor payloads that are designed to enhance the capabilities of the Navy's patrol vessels, particularly in challenging conditions, the company announced in a statement.
