TYSONS, VA. Software company CORAS has won a prototype project agreement (PPA) with the U.S. Navy’s Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic for the Information Warfare Research Project (IWRP) that aimes to use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to improve and troubleshoot shipboard information technology (IT) systems.   

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. Rugged-laser supplier Block MEMS has won a $2.6 million contract in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate's drive to detect vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs).

ATLANTA & CHICAGO. A team consisting of personnel from General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) and Boeing has won a U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) contract to develop a 300 kW-class solid-state distributed gain high-energy laser weapon system (HELWS).

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) has made eight awards through the Defense Production Act, Title III Program -- totaling approximately $14 million -- as part of the DIU's strategy to accelerate the adoption of capable and secure small unmanned aerial systems (sUASs) for national and economic security,

QUANTICO, Va. The U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) reports that in September 2021 it began fielding an unmanned amphibious robot system to support littoral operations around the world.

FRANCE. Thales has won its first delivery order from the U.S. Army to provide the AN/PRC-170 Javelin Radio. Under the Army single channel TSM radio program, and in support of capability set fielding’s into the Integrated Tactical Network (ITN), the AN/PRC-170 Javelin is designed to expand voice, data connectivity, and streaming video to the tactical edge.

AUSTIN, Texas. VORAGO Technologies introduced two new radiation-hardened microcontrollers, the Arm Cortex-M4 VA41628 and VA41629, built to provide flexibility in space-based missions for aerospace and defense.
