NASHUA, NH. BAE Systems and Leonardo UK received the green light from the U.S. government to develop an interoperable aircraft-survivability tool suite -- consisting of the BAE Systems AN/AAR-57 common missile warning system (CMWS) and the Leonardo Miysis directed infrared countermeasure (DIRCM) system -- that is aimed at vastly enhancing combat aircraft survivability against advanced threats.

WEST 2023 CONFERENCE & EXPOSITION -- SAN DIEGO. General Micro Systems (GMS -- Rancho Cucamonga, California) introduced several products intended for battlefield use at the WEST 2023 trade show this week in San Diego.

WEST 2023 CONFERENCE & EXPOSITION -- SAN DIEGO. One Stop Systems (OSS -- Escondido, California) has won an order from the U.S. Army worth $1.3 million for the design, development, and prototyping of a ruggedized compute visualization system for use on Army ground vehicles to boost visualization and safety for the operators, with the opportunity to add artificial intelligence (AI) features in the future.

WEST 2023 CONFERENCE & EXPOSITION -- SAN DIEGO. Phoenix International Systems (Orange, California) announces the debut of its RPC16 rugged network attached storage (NAS) server at this week's AFCEA/USNI West 2023 Conference and Exposition.

ARLINGTON, Va.  CAES has won a contract with the U.S. Navy -- with a reported value of as much as $38.5 million over five years -- to supply spares, engineering services, and repairs on antenna-array panel assemblies to continue to support the SEWIP Block 2 program.

FULLERTON, Calif. Raytheon Intelligence & Space (a business segment of Raytheon Technologies) won a foreign military sales (FMS) contract with the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Traffic Management Systems Program Office to deliver the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).

NORTHBROOK, Ill. The soldier-system market is predicted to grow from $10.4 billion in 2022 to $12.8 billion by 2027, at a combined annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.4% during the study period, according to a report from MarketsandMarkets, "Soldier Systems Market." 

ASHBURN, Va. Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division announced that it won a contract with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division -- a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract worth more than $8.7 million -- to supply its Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)-based single-board computer (SBC) technology in support of the AN/UPX-24(V) identification friend or foe (IFF) radar system processor sets.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Keysight Technologies finalized a five-year contract with the U.S. Army Contracting Command (Redstone Arsenal, Alabama) -- worth $28.6 million -- under which Keysight will design and build the CM-523/U battery-operated handheld spectrum analyzer.

EDWARDS, Calif. Edwards Air Force Base (AFB) – Air Force Test Center (AFTC) has entered into a 10-year, $287 million firm-fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract with Curtiss-Wright under which Curtiss-Wright will provide its High Speed Data Acquisition System (HSDAS) aerospace instrumentation technology to support AFTC flight test programs.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. General Dynamics Mission Systems has signed a contract worth $481.6 million to help the U.S. Army maintain a signals-intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic-warfare (EW) system for military ground vehicles. 

ARLINGTON, Va. Mission-critical RF company CAES won a spot to continue contributing to the U.S. Air Force on the Extremely Wideband Radio Frequency Spectrum Operations (EWO) system.

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. L3Harris Technologies recently delivered the Navigation Technology Satellite-3 (NTS-3) space vehicle -- a satellite billed as an alternative to GPS -- to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) integration and test facility at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. 

ARLINGTON, Va. RF electronics maker CAES announced it won a contract from Northrop Grumman valued at more than $24 million to provide M-Code GPS antennas to support precision guidance kits (PGK).

TAUFKIRCHEN, Germany. Sensors maker Hensoldt has signed an agreement to develop sensor equipment that can be integrated into a pod to give the recently commissioned Eurodrone a signals-intelligence (SIGINT) capability. 

RESTON, Va. Engineering firm CACI International won a single-award prime contract worth potentially $284 million with the National Security Agency (NSA) to provide mission expertise and systems engineering support for NSA’s Cybersecurity Directorate.
