WASHINGTON. The first array of a massive update of the Navy’s surface electronic warfare (EW) systems is set to undergo ground testing later in 2021, part of the U.S. Navy's AN/SLQ-32(V)7 Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) under Northrop Grumman Block 3 SEWIP effort. 

LOS ANGELES. Silvus Technologies has won a contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) worth as much as $13.1 million as part of the DARPA Resilient Networked Distributed Mosaic Communications (RN DMC) program.

Albuquerque, N. M. Verus Research has won a contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate, the center for space technology research and development, as part of the AFRL's $9.7 million, five-year Research Options for Space Enterprise Technologies (ROSET) project, which focuses on future space communications.

MIAMI. Heico Corporation announced that its Electronic Technologies Group acquired the business, assets, and certain liabilities of Pyramid Semiconductor (Sunnyvale, California), a maker of specialty semiconductors used in military, space, and medical applications. 

CHANTILLY, Va.  Digital-engineering firm VTG has begun work on a three-year, $13 million contract to support the U.S. Navy Digital Integration Support Cell (DISC) in its effort to integrate data and technology into all areas of naval operations.

HERNDON, Va. Federal contractor Akima announced that its Aperture subsidiary won a contract to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic’s Command Wide 8(a) Programmatic Engineering Logistics Support Incubator program. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract runs over five years and if all options are exercised could have a total value of $113.8 million.

NASHUA, N.H. BAE Systems has received a $58 million contract from Boeing to begin low-rate initial production (LRIP) of the F-15 Eagle Passive Active Warning and Survivability System (EPAWSS) -- an electronic warfare (EW) and countermeasures system -- for the U.S. Air Force. 

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. Senseeker Engineering, a company that designs and makes digital infrared image-sensing technology, has completed the acquisition of SE-IR Corporation, a maker of cryogenic test equipment and electronics.

Green Hills Software announced that its INTEGRITY-178 tuMP real-time operating system (RTOS) will be used in Terma North America's (Arlington, Virginia) next-generation family of electronic warfare (EW)  controllers [the AN/ALQ-213(v5)] as part of Terma's recent $306 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)--Aviation (Warner Robins, Georgia).  

NEW YORK. Software development and verification-tool maker AdaCore announced that it acquired Componolit (Dresden, Germany), effective February 1, 2021.
